In our interview section today we have Malcolm Harvest aka Blvck Jagger with us. He has recently released the music video of “Welcome 2 L.A.”. Here is our interview with him.
Pro Media Mag: First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
Blvck Jagger: Hey Beautiful family, I am Malcolm Harvest aka Blvck Jagger, which is actually a name derived from my Great grandfather’s Indian name which was “Black Dagger”. I’m from Compton,Ca I’m here to be a disruptive force in the world. I’m so grateful for you taking time to interview me.
Pro Media Mag: Which famous musicians do you admire?
Blvck Jagger: Hmmm great question. I’ll give you my Top 5. Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Michael Jackson, George Clinton, Maurice White.
Pro Media Mag: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
Blvck Jagger: It’s music for people who want to have a great experience in the moment. Mindful music. Shift Music. I create music that is designed to take you where the canvas leads and the lyrics and melody are what grounds you in that dimension of my music. Especially with all the inflections in my voice.
Pro Media Mag: We really loved your track “Welcome 2 L.A.”. It seems you have deep love for L.A.?
Blvck Jagger: Thank you so much for taking the time to listen. Yes I have an extreme affinity for my city because of my own personal experience growing up, I was able to experience The City of Lost Angels in Full Spectrum.
Pro Media Mag: Video is perfectly following the lyrics. You must be getting appreciation from Music critics?
Blvck Jagger: You know the response has been really great especially from some of the awesome blogs and publications. It’s been a great start to the year for sure. I was very excited when we created the video concept because i wanted to feel like a souvenir from LA like hey when I go to LA this is a experience I want.
Pro Media Mag: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming show
Blvck Jagger: I have performed at most of the historical venues in the city. Viper Room, Both Venues at the Roxy, The Sayers Club, The Mint, Troubadour, etc. my Favorite Venue is Forum. I’m looking forward to playing a live concert of any kind at this point. Especially because Covid-19. I’m just praying we get back the vibe and the community of live music.
Pro Media Mag: What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Blvck Jagger: Honestly I’d attempting to purchase a farm and live off the land. Really enjoy life. Travel and start a family. Restore a 48’ Bel Air convertible. Train Martial Arts, paint and write a book.
Pro Media Mag: How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
Blvck Jagger: The Internet showed you how many people in the world really love music and that it is consumed at a major rate. Yet it’s an amazing place because when you get the right frequency with the sound and message it will resonate. I’m really happy about the future of my career and again so grateful for you having me.
