Talented & Inspiring Music Duo N2BLÜ

We recently had a conversation with music duo N2BLÜ . Jonathan Arceneaux answered our questions on the behalf of his music duo N2BLÜ. N2BLÜ Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers. Jonathan Arceneaux : We are Jonathan Arceneaux and Kostantin Smorodnikov. Together we are N2BLÜ. Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry? Jonathan Arceneaux : I have been singing and performing since I can remember and have always been attracted to the creative process of music as well as performing. Kosta has always had a fascination with creating sounds and beats and has been inspired by club DJs and sound engineers to learn and perfect the art of song construction. Together we’ve been able to mesh our two musical loves into what we are today. Pro Media Mag : How would you describe the music that you typically create? N2BLÜ : All the music we typically create really means something to us. It’s fueled by a full range of emotions: passion, love, loss, joy, sorrow, pain, and even sometimes hate. We create music that is honest, expresses a certain level of vulnerability, delves deep into the human experience, and isn’t just fluff to sell records. To goal in the music that we create is to connect with those people who want and need what we are creating in their lives. Pro Media Mag : Your previous release “Neon Gold” did really well, you must be very pleased with the response it got? N2BLÜ : Yes! We are absolutely pleased and excited with the response that Neon Gold has received along with the follow up single, Match My Crazy. People really seem to get what we’re saying and trying to accomplish with our music and we couldn’t be happier about it! Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recently released single ‘Hurricane’ ? N2BLÜ : We have all had our share of relationship and dating issues in one way or another. Personally, I (Jonathan) have been guilty of staying in relationships that just were not working, but I was so determined/desperate to save and salvage it that I wouldn’t even realize how much worse I was making it by not just ending the relationship. Granted, relationships are a two way street, so the impending “Storm”, or eventual/potential breakup is fueled on both sides. Unlike tornados or other natural disasters, a hurricane is something you can see coming. Whether or not you choose to acknowledge it or prepare for it is another story, hence the parallel to a doomed relationship.
Pro Media Mag : What makes this track different from your other tracks ? N2BLÜ : Well, I (Jonathan) have a tendency to write a lot of songs about love and relationships and Hurricane is no exception. I feel like this track is different from our others in that it has a force of nature element to. Talking about the actual subject matter of the song, but also Kostantin’s construction of the track. It feels like you are in a storm leading up to the full force of the Hurricane. We really wanted to create that imagery for listeners along with the actual message of the song. Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received from the release? N2BLÜ : We have received a very positive response so far from listeners as well as reviews from blogs! People really seem to be connecting to the music and our message and that’s our goal! Pro Media Mag : If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?? N2BLÜ : If we could change anything about the industry it would be to shift the focus to talent rather than image. While things are slowly changing with the acceptance of artists who don’t fit the typical “physical mold” that the industry pushes upon artists and audiences alike, there is still more that needs to change. Personally, I (Jonathan) have experienced criticism in the past for being a bigger individual. Hell, my first manager I worked with years ago fully supported the idea of me going under the knife just so I could be more marketable and to hide my sexuality because it wouldn’t be widely accepted. This image of “perfection” that is being fed to all of us by the industry is not reality in any way shape or form. Instead, we should all be celebrated for the differences in our size, shape, color, sexuality, and gender. Inclusivity and abolishment of division is what we would change in the industry and in general. Pro Media Mag : Are you working on any new songs/projects? N2BLÜ : Absolutely! We will be releasing our next single on March 3, 2020 and following up with more new singles leading up to our full album release in July of this year! Pro Media Mag : How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? N2BLÜ : As with any advances in technology there are both positive and negative aspects, but we feel that the internet has impacted the music business in more positive ways than negative. It has definitely allowed an opportunity for greater visibility and a platform for independent artists like ourselves to reach a larger potential audience.
