Sharing our recent interview with an experienced and highly skilled graphic designer and motivational artist blogger Jamele Lawrence.
Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Jamele Lawrence : [laugh] Hello readers! I am Jamele Lawrence, a graphic designer from Chester, Pennsylvania. I am also an art blogger who motivates others to be great.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into this industry?
Jamele Lawrence : Hmm it’s a mixture of graphic novel artist Mark Crilley and probably the massive amounts of art i’ve dealt with as a child. I’ve always been into art in general, I feel like it really blossom in undergrad during my sophomore year. I knew during that time that this is what my career path will ultimately become.
Pro Media Mag : What’s your expertise level? And what kind of skills you got in designing?
Jamele Lawrence : I feel like I’m an expert but yet I’m still learning new techniques daily. I’ve received my masters in media design in 2016, I specialize in brand identity. I think of myself as a logo specialist but i am very flexible in the field.
Pro Media Mag : In which tools your normally work ?
Jamele Lawrence : I’m big on Adobe Illustrator, I love that program and it helps with majority of my work. Second, Photoshop followed by Adobe Indesign. Different programs for different jobs I guess [laugh].
Pro Media Mag : Do your clients belong to some specific field ?
Jamele Lawrence : No, I believe most of my business comes from entrepreneurs. These individuals are looking to get their brand off it’s hump or actually starting it from scratch.
Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being a designer?
Jamele Lawrence : It would have to be the satisfying response from the client. Knowing that i’ve helped them further their brands is more than enough to be the best part.
Pro Media Mag : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Jamele Lawrence : I would like to help others with their brands while building mines as well. I want to write several books but that might be way into the future at this point.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about some of your recent projects?
Jamele Lawrence : My recent project was working for a young entrepreneur, she just launched her new brand known as “Baby Traces”, it’s a baby clothing and i’ve helped with the designs. I’m hoping for huge success for her since i had my hands in helping with her project.
