We are sharing our recent interview with business and entertainment consultant Rich Kimble.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get launch your music business consulting company?
Rich Kimble : I’ve been a music producer and engineer for over 20 years now and have been fortunate to learn the business side over that same time span. I see so many talented artists now with no clue of the business struggling to turn their music to a career level. So I believe that it’s extremely important to know more in order to get more out of your career.
Pro Media Mag : What are the key services you are providing?
Rich Kimble : Key services I provide are branding and marketing which I believe are extremely important, but also extremely undervalued. Your music, your name, and your image are all part of your brand. So if you don’t have that in order you’ll struggle. Another key service is that I educate you along the way so you will be able to apply that knowledge in all your business practices. Another key service I offer is creating a buzz online and offline. I also do graphic designing, websites, social media marketing, and playlist placements. These are just a few key services, but not limited to. Every client is different so I work with you based on your needs.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent projects ?
Rich Kimble : I’ve worked with some established industry artists and major labels in the past. Currently, I’m working with an artist from Miami, one from Detroit, several from Boston, and one from the UK. The list is constantly growing, but I’m not in it for the money over helping you achieve and exceed your goals. So I’m selective with who I work with to assure my best and most experienced advice.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received so far?
Rich Kimble : So far, the response has been amazing. I always find extreme enjoyment when my clients tell me they’ve been contacted by a major company from applying my advice to practice. That maintains the loyalty between us and strengthens our relationship. Strong relationships and loyalty goes a long way in the music industry.
Pro Media Mag : You are working in some particular genres?
Rich Kimble : I’ve worked with artists in pretty much every genre from Hip Hop, Reggae, R&B, Rock, EDM, and more. I have narrowed it down to Hip Hop and R&B more recently. I don’t limit myself to these genres, but do work selectively based on the project as they all vary.
Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being in a music business?
Rich Kimble : The best part of being in this business is having direct access to tons of new and good music. Then being part of that great music and having some sort of involvement to the success of that song is most rewarding. Especially since I love music and everything about it.
Pro Media Mag : Anything else you want to share with our readers?
Rich Kimble : I think music is for everybody. No matter if you’re a fan, an artist, producer, DJ or a creator, music can be so therapeutic. Enjoy music for what it’s worth and do so responsibly. There’s tons of money in the music industry, but as long as you’re enjoying it while taking it seriously, you’ll make the most out of it.
