We are sharing our recent interview with Ms Latavia Roberson who got fame from being a part of Destiny’s Child. She has started a new career in sports so we took her time to interview about this new venture.
Pro Media Mag : First of all please tell us about your professional life after leaving Destiny’s Child.
Ms Latavia Roberson : For starters I did not leave Destiny’s Child, I mean that would be insane. After I was dismissed from the group, I took some time to myself to self reflect, and come up with a new game plan. While that took awhile, it gave me opportunity to search for my true passion.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent work?
Ms Latavia Roberson : I am currently working on a few television projects, that should come into ferwision by first quarter 2020. Roberson Sports Management, L.L.C. is my full time job at the monument.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into sports industry?
Ms Latavia Roberson : I was always a sports fernatic, I would watch boxing with my dad all the time. My long time friend Alfred Adams, came to me with the idea of sports management. He never thought in a million years I would be so interested. And to his supersized I was all in.
Pro Media Mag : Our readers would like to know more about your sports venture ‘Roberson Sports Management, L.L.C‘.
Ms Latavia Roberson : With everything working out perfectly with my now business partner Alfred Adams, it was just a matter of time in putting the project in motion. Alfred already had worked with world renowned fighters like Jesse James Leija, and Troy Dorsey. He set up a meeting with James to acquire him as our head trainer. Alfred had a working relationship with 8 X Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman and Ronnie put us in touch with 8X Mr. Olympia Lee Haney. Lee is best known for working with Evander Holyfield.
Alfred and I discussed creating a new boxing magazine called Slugfest. This would allow us to be able to move around within the sport to create the awareness of our company. Slugfest Magazine was created with the fans in mind. We know they love a good Slugfest and so do we. We have distribution to over 40,000 wholesalers, retailers, and booksellers in over 100 countries. This allows our magazine to gain maximum exposure in the market. We have direct contact product placement with the top 3,300 Christian retailers, 2,200 retailers, and 3,500 librarians.
Our distribution center has warehouses in Oregon, California, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Indiana as well as operations in the United Kingdom, France, India, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, Poland, Germany, Australia, China and Italy.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received?
Ms Latavia Roberson : So far, we have been received well.
Pro Media Mag : How is the experience so far?
Ms Latavia Roberson : Mind blowing.
Pro Media Mag : You are surely the first African American female to manage a boxer, it must be a great feeling?
Ms Latavia Roberson : It is very humbling to say the lease. At the same time very changing. A female in a male dominated industry is changeling, but is also has its perks.
Pro Media Mag : You are going to give it full time or you are working on any entertainment project as well?
Ms Latavia Roberson : This is my full time job, along with my business partner Alfred Adams. Every day we pray together, we discuses what we have in motion for the fighters, with possible sponsorships, up and coming fights, working on interviews for the magazine, layouts for the magazine and we are working on a television series for this venture of sports management and the magazine. We have secured Elton Jones as our director. He has a television show on Fox now called First Responders Live
