Pro Media Mag : First of all tell us about the start of your professional career?
LaToya Lawson : The start of my career started in the 8th grade when my teacher Mr. Lewis said, ” I was going to be a writer.” In the 8t grade I joined the drama club and started writing short stories.
Pro Media Mag : What was the motive behind launching Mississippi Professional Nursing Care?
LaToya Lawson : I wanted to purchase a house therefore, I needed a business. I was already a private caregiver. So, I decided to start my own business and employ people to work for me.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into writing?
LaToya Lawson : When I moved from Chicago to Canton. The kids started teasing me by calling me Rat Queen. I use to think I was the ugliest girl in the world. Therefore, I dreamed I was someone else. Many nights I would hurry up to bed just so I could escape the harsh reality of being this ugly, dark skinned Rat Queen that everyone made fun of. That’s what inspired me. Escaping and dreaming of who or whatever I wanted to be.
