Words shape worlds. Words opens doors and closes them. Words create opportunities. Words can create your livelihood.
This week in our interview section we have a vastly experienced and highly skilled writer with us.
Pro Media Mag : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Malia Joy Wofford : Hi, name is Malia Joy Wofford, author and growth marketer.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into writing?
Malia Joy Wofford : Honestly, what gave me the push to take the leap were certain people whom God has placed in my life at a particular time in my life. They saw certain giftings in me that I was not completely aware of or confident in.
They were very encouraging and insistent on me using my gifting of words.
Pro Media Mag : You had been developing the media kits and writing press releases on various artists? That must be an interesting job?
Malia Joy Wofford : It was. It has been a while since I have done that, but it was great to get to know the artist involved. It
is quite fun to take their stories and skills present them in a way that attracts media.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your recent project?
Malia Joy Wofford : Right now, I do some writing for various clients that I am not able to divulge much information about. However, they are leaders in their field in certain regions of the U.S.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response your writing has received so far?
Malia Joy Wofford : People either really like my writing and appreciate the message, hate it; or feel indifferent about it.
Some of the topics I tend to write about expose ways that are not helpful to people, under a certain type of oppression.Sometimes, people don’t want to come to terms with the fact they are under oppression. They may get mad at someone shining the light on their oppression, because that means facing change. Unfortunately, getting out of various types of oppression can become a war zone. So, at times it’s just easier to stay put. The people who do the opressing, certainly don’t like me exposing tactics or unhealthy mentalities. It makes them look bad and opens the door for the people they control, to walk out and live differently. Their upset or indifference is something I don’t mind too much. I care more about seeing people be free, than the approval of others.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of writing attracts you more?
Malia Joy Wofford : I enjoy writing that really makes you think. Things that help keep your mind sharp. I also, really enjoy the Word of God.It has a supernatural power to it that has given strength and power that is beyond natural capabilities.
Pro Media Mag : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Malia Joy Wofford : Yes, there are certain topics that I am creating audio series on that for an international audience. Looking forward to launching phase one of that by the fall.
Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being a writer?
Malia Joy Wofford : Writing is a world of it’s own where there are no limitations. No restrictions. You can create worlds within worlds to teach the world something you may not be able to fully convey on a platform or one on one communication.
