We are sharing our interview with Dylan Schwartz, CEO of Dylan Universe Comics and Comic Book Aficionado

Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to get into comics?

Dylan Schwartz : I found my dad’s old comics in the attic and that was the start of a multi million dollar empire.

Pro Media Mag : What was your first intention behind starting Buying/Selling old comics  ?

Dylan Schwartz : I always liked comics, but the transition to buying and selling came at a coin show. I saw the price disparities, and capitalized on them flipping from one dealer to the other. Something was going on; My analytical brain had turned into a way to make real money.

Pro Media Mag : What kind of response have you received so far?

Dylan Schwartz : Mostly positive. There are always gonna be a few haters but haters gonna hate, am I gonna hate back or just be even better than I was yesterday? I prefer the latter

Pro Media Mag : What kind of comics you normally buy/sell. Any particular era or hero that’s a top seller?

Dylan Schwartz : Liquid is my favorite. Usually 1st appearances do the best especially when you get into early 1960s Marvels because the demand is just insane. Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men usually command the best premiums, especially in high grade.

Pro Media Mag : What’s the best part of being into comic biz?

Dylan Schwartz : I love comics, I’m the boss and I set my own hours.

Pro Media Mag : What do you advise, what’s the best way to sell comic collections?

Dylan Schwartz : It depends on what the motivation for selling is. If it’s not a lot I’d say the seller should call a high paying dealer such as me or piece out themselves if they have already invested the time on ebay. The problem is the 2nd choice can be super problematic but can sometimes be better. Ultimately it depends on whether it is good stuff or super common stuff. Dump the commons quick but be willing to hold the rares for a while. Universally I’d say sell all quick if you have no attachment invest no time to make dealer selling have the most benefit and put the money away for a rainy day or into the stock market

Pro Media Mag : Anything else you would like to share with our readers?
