Hello Ursula! Tell us, who or what inspired you to get into this industry?
Hey! I have always loved performing, and whilst growing up have been training a lot as a dancer and felt very inspired by one of my teachers. Then, later on, I went to a musical theater academy and began taking acting classes as a part of the curriculum. I immediately fell in love with it, so I continued to pursue it further. I’ve always been inspired by creative people.
Tell us about your new show The Gatekeepers?
Sure! The Gatekeepers is a show that focuses on the music and the film and television industry and shines a light on what’s going on behind the scenes. In the episodes I am interviewing producers, directors, music supervisors, editors, songwriters, and many more to find out how they got started and what their day to day life is like.
There are so many people working behind the scenes in the entertainment business, and it’s fascinating to hear their stories.
Is the show completed or will there be more episodes?
I am absolutely planning on making more episodes!
What attracts you more, performing on stage or being on set?
I enjoy both – a lot. Putting up a live show is a unique experience and it can’t ever be replicated. If you put up a play, every night will be slightly different. On some nights you may feel better about your performance than on other nights. On set, you make sure you capture enough footage and sometimes you may have to repeat the same scene over and over again to ensure a great outcome. Lots of work is being done in post production and you aren’t necessarily filming scenes in sequence.
Are you currently working on another project?
Yes, I been working on a thriller that has just gone into post production. I am very excited for the screening because I love the script.
