We are sharing our recent interview with Andre Colquhoun. He is a talented actor, filmmaker, singer, songwriter, and record producer and recently released his debut 4 track R&B/Soul EP called “Short Term” May 5th of this year.
Pro Media Mag : What made you decide to pursue a career in entertainment?
Andre Colquhoun : Entertainment has always been a part of my life and I wanted to use my God-giving gifts. I love entertainment and I love to entertain.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of singer would you classify yourself as?
Andre Colquhoun : Truthful. I sing from the heart.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us about your debut EP “Short Term” ?
Andre Colquhoun : “Short Term” is an R&B/Soul EP that I wrote, produced, recorded, and did vocals on. For this EP, I wanted things to be simplistic and experimental. Something to soothe the mind. It’s basically pieces of reality expressed through song.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response have you received from the release?
Andre Colquhoun : I’ve been getting great responses from a lot of people. Family, friends, and strangers. I’m truly grateful for all the love and support.
Pro Media Mag : Any particular track from the EP that’s your favorite?
Andre Colquhoun : All the tracks!
Pro Media Mag : Do you need some specific kind of environment for writing songs?
Andre Colquhoun : I don’t really have a specific kind of environment. Sometimes I can write a song in the studio and sometimes I can write a song on the train.
Pro Media Mag : If you could let someone sing the best song you have written, who would that artist be?
Andre Colquhoun : The composer, Hans Zimmer. He’s not a singer, but I would love for him to sing.
Pro Media Mag : You are also an actor and filmmaker, tell us about your recent projects?
Andre Colquhoun : I’ve done a few films and TV series, all ranging differently in genre. “Short Term” is my recent project and I’m happy with how it turned out.
