AN INTERVIEW WITH THE INCOMPARABLE FANNY ROSEN

Well, I finally got to sit down with Fanny Rosen and do a brief interview with her. She’s been so busy lately with films, stage work and music videos that we had to postpone our meeting several times. Fortunately, we finally sat down at her favorite L.A. coffee shop and enjoyed some strong brew and a great conversation.

FANNY ROSEN

Hi Fanny, how are you?
Fanny: Oh fine, Thanks.

I’m glad we got together because I wanted to talk about your newest projects. Can you tell us about them?
Fanny: Yes. I just finished a retro-styled short film called My Dear Professor. It was shot in a beautiful house in Palm Springs and I played the lead character, Margot. She’s a regal woman of beauty and intelligence whose mental state deteriorates after discovering that her husband is leaving her for another woman. Of course, her state of mind doesn’t allow her to simply take what has been handed to her – without a fight – she begins to plan her revenge.

Was that a challenging role for you, Fanny?
Fanny: Yes, it was, but it was also a great deal of fun. Perhaps since the character and I were so different from each other, it was fun to get inside someone I have never known before. That’s what acting is all about anyway: exploring human nature and jumping into the unknown, so to speak.

Was the shoot itself difficult?
Fanny: No, it went very smoothly. The director was totally prepared and got the best out of everyone, and working with Christine Donlon was just perfect. She’s a very talented actress with a lot of experience, including the movie Entourage that she shot last year.

What else have you done and what are you working on now?
Fanny: A few of the films I’ve been in recently are Lost Angels, Hunting Games and Playing With Fire. I’m proud of those films and I was really happy to be a part of them. Oh yes, I was in the feature film, Bunnyman: Suffer The Children, which I enjoyed very much! I believe it is currently in post-production and should be released later this year or next year.  Some of the projects coming up for me are Ant Predictor, in which I play an opera singer who is in a dysfunctional relationship with a man who is obsessed with all things morbid. I have also been cast in Nowhere Girl. That’s a Sci-Fi feature directed by the Bunnyman director. He and I got along very well on that film and apparently he liked my acting so much that he offered a great part in Nowhere Girl. It’s going to be a very busy couple of years.
