Dr. Siohvaughn L. Funches is a loving mother, renowned public speaker and a now two-time published author! Spearheading her own publishing company, A Wow Woman Publishing Co., she has authored and released two books, The True Story for God’s Glory: The Life of Siohvaughn L. Funches-Wade and You Gotta Let God Finish! And being so filled with both the wisdom and revelation of God’s purpose for her life, this diligent woman has already commenced her third literary work!
We are sharing our recent interview with her.
Pro Media Mag : First of all please tell us about the start of your professional career.
Dr. Funches Wade : Reflecting back, I know that my professional career has been in the making for quite some time. From very early on the Lord was instilling in me skills and discipline that I utilize, and have been awarded for to this day. He used my mother to teach me the value of education and the wonderful rewards My career in the legal field definitely began long before law school. Before I was ever accepted into a law school, I was filing and presenting motions in court, preparing for depositions, interviewing witnesses and conducting discovery in preparation for trial. So by the time I was enrolled in law school, God blessed me to excel academically, having been awarded multiple times for having the highest grade in my entire law school class, also winning at trial court competitions first place, on top of being awarded “Best Oralist” for mock trials where I argued the US Supreme Court laws. Finally, I was blessed to graduate at the top of my class academically, Magna Cum Laude from Law School.
Pro Media Mag : Tell us a little about your education background?
Dr. Funches Wade : Well, God has always favored me heavily in the area of education. From the time I was about four years old I was offered a full ride scholarship to Loyola University in a program for gifted children. During school as a minor I was often on the Honor Roll and in High School I was awarded the High Honors with Distinction Award for academics. Later I so blessed to graduate from undergrad with nearly a 4.0, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Next, I went on to enroll in the Master’s Degree Level Program and got a certification in Professional Counseling. I also obtained a Doctorate in Theology as well as graduate Magna Cum Laude from Law School. I also went to school to become a registered neutral with the Georgia Supreme Court Office of Dispute Resolution. So I’ve become a Civil Mediator, Domestic Relations Mediator and took specialized training to become a Domestic Violence Mediator. A couple years ago I finished up school in order to become a Parenting Coordinator.
Pro Media Mag : Who or what inspired you to launch “A Wow Woman Foundation”?
Dr. Funches Wade : Jesus did it. And He used some of the most horrifying times of my life to develop in me such a love and compassion and passion for people and their God-given purpose in life.
Pro Media Mag : Our readers would like to know about your foundation’?
Dr. Funches Wade :A Woman’s Worth Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enriching people’s lives with the life transforming truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have various means of accomplishing this, end such as the new Podcast, “The One Thing That’s Needful,” the WOW Blog, Published Books (You Gotta Let God Finish and The True Story for God’s Glory: The Life of Siohvaughn L. Funches-Wade), public-speaking engagements etc. We also have a host of programs and services we provide such as professional individual and couple’s counseling, domestic violence counseling, transitional shelters for women and children fleeing from domestic violence, foster care program initiatives, scholarships, women’s workshops, programs for the wealthy and well-known and a host of others.
Pro Media Mag : What kind of response you have received so far?
Dr. Funches Wade : Amazing responses. People lives are being transformed for the better. We have dealt with women who went from trying to commit suicide to sound in their mind and emotions. People have literally been delivered from loss of custody, while others marriages are being saved from the vice-grips of divorce by the grace of God through this ministry. The broken are being completely healed and restored and the hopeless are now hopeful. The fruit of this labor of love is what confirms to me; God sent me and this ministry, A Woman’s Worth Foundation is His loving idea and He deserves all the honor and praise for it all!
Pro Media Mag : And what about ‘The Mediation Matters Firm, LLC’. It’s also a full time job?
Dr. Funches Wade : The Mediation Matters Firm, is an professional Alternative Dispute Resolution Firm I started after graduating law school. And while I’m so passionate about this Firm, because I am able to put my legal background to use in a way that doesn’t leave divorcing families utterly destroyed, I do this on a part-time basis. I work tirelessly with a lot of domestic relations court cases dealing with issues such as divorce, child custody and division of marital property. I am passionate about this avenue of the legal field because it places me in a unique position to really help families make the best out of some very difficult times, while reducing conflict by using the law, skill and the experience God has blessed me to obtain.
Pro Media Mag : Alternative Dispute Resolution Firm, A Woman’s Worth Foundation and yet you got time for real estate investment firm, that’s amazing, how do you manage it all?
Dr. Funches Wade : I believe that whoever God calls, He equips and also gives the grace (favor) to do what He called you to do…and to do it with ease. It is a lot on my plate so to speak, but I know this is God’s plan and He is the one who ultimately responsible for seeing it all come to pass. I remind myself, it is God’s plan and God’s purpose…it will also be God’s provision and God’s power that ultimately realize this whole dream He gave. God placed the desire in my heart to have a Real Estate Investment Firm, and He has provided and I am so grateful!
